You may have read our two previous blog posts on the products we deliver for you here at the Old Mill Wood Yard, and, fingers crossed, they may have led to you bringing your custom to us.
From log cabins and cladding to skirtings and deckings, there are many things involving timber that we can provide for you and your needs.
As well as the products we can give you, we also have a variety of machinery that assists us in providing these many products. Mobile diesel firewood processors, electric firewood processor and a multi head track saw are just some of the equipment we use to get the finished products ready for you.
Now, we have two new products we can offer you; these are roof shingles and tin sheeting, and here we will give you details of what they involve.
1. Roof shingles
These are a roof covering that consist of individual elements that overlap one another. These elements are typically flat, rectangular shapes laid in courses from the bottom edge of the roof up, with each successive course overlapping the joints below.
Roof shingles can be made up of a number of different materials, including wood, slate, fibre cement and plastic, plus many more.
These are common roof materials, your current property may have them already.
2. Tin sheets
This is formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. It is one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes. Countless everyday objects are constructed with sheet metal. A thickness can vary significantly; an extremely thin thickness is considered foil or leaf, and pieces thicker than 6 mm (0.25 in) are considered plate.
Sheet metal is used for car bodies, aeroplane wings, medical tables, roofs for buildings (architecture) and many other applications.
These two new products go to show that we are about more than just timber or firewood; they show we are expanding what we can do for you. Our experience and knowledge of our industry is growing day after day – this can only be seen as a positive aspect.
If you think you require our services then feel free to contact us at any time and we will endeavour to do what we can to help you.
